Dear California LBC Presidents,
We received the attached letter from the California State Athletic Commission mandating the presence of an ambulance and one EMT at each
sanctioned event beginning May 8, 2014. Also attached is the California Statute regarding Emergency Equipment Required (#294).
I talked with Robert Rodriguez, Nor Cal President yesterday who asked if it would be possible to arrange a meeting of all California LBC
members to discuss this situation and to brainstorm solutions to the financial ramifications of this requirement.
Please let me know if you four LBC Presidents would like to hold a conference call to discuss and I will be happy to set up and participate.

|National Office postpones implementation of mandatory athlete physicals.
With the recent change of leadership at both the Board of Director and National Office
levels, the decision has been made to review the timeframe for requiring athlete
physicals. This issue will be discussed more fully at the next Board of Directors Meeting.
USA Boxing will engage the respective task forces/committees involved in this area
before disseminating the final decision regarding the requirement of athlete physicals.
There is also keen interest in reviewing all committee and task force chair positions. With
the Boxing Festival less than one month away, President John Brown will be scheduling
a number of meetings during the Festival to review and evaluate committee
responsibilities and reporting functions.
